RECENT EVENTS

The Carrick Stud Web Site was created in May 2000. This page is intended to keep you up to date with the happenings of the horses since the creation of the site.

April 28th 2002. Carrick Hoan left the Carrick Stud to start his new life with the Malone family in Melrose. He will be sadly missed at the Shanter Riding School where he became a firm favorite with all the children. We wish him well.

October 8th 2000. Dumfries Branch Scottish Endurance Riding Club 10mile endurance pleasure ride with  Carrick Lord Torran, successfully completed.

September 25th 2000. Domain name www.carrickhighlandponies.com acquired for stud.

August 27th 2000. Sheila Smith Charity Show  Carrick Lord Torran, 1st place Novice Ridden, 4th place Open Ridden Pony, 5th place In-Hand Highlands

August 19th 2000. South West Highland Pony Club  Carrick Lord Torran, 2nd place Stallions in-hand, 3rd place novice ridden, 2nd place ridden handy pony, 2nd place in-hand handy pony, 4th place top score show jumping.

August 13th 2000. Jelliston Dressage Show.  Carrick Lord Torran, 4th and 5th in separate tests.

August 12th 2000.Colmonell Agricultural Show. Carrick Lord Arran, 1st Foal Class

August 12th 2000. Colmonell Agricultural Show. Inchmurren of Carrick, 3rd prize in hand, 4 years and over.

July 22nd 2000. Dalrymple Agricultural Show. Carrick Lord Torran, Working Hunter Mountain and Moorland Ponies. Made it to second round and placed 7th.

July 22nd 2000. Dalrymple Agricultural Show. Carrick Lord Torran, 6th place in first ever competition under saddle. Torran has also successfully completed his first show jumping round over coloured poles, and loved it.

June 10th 2000. Straiton Farmers Society Show. Inchmurren of Carrick, 3rd prize in hand.

June 10th 2000. Straiton Farmers Society Show. Carrick Lord Arran, 3rd prize foal in hand.

June 8th 2000. Close attention by Carrick Lord Torran, to visiting mare earns a few warning kicks, teeth needing protected if this keeps up. Poor Torran, he's ready but she isn't.

June 6th 2000. Visiting mare for Carrick Lord Torran.

May 25th 2000. Bryce (Janes husband) takes lessons on Carrick Lord Torran in preparation for holiday in Ireland

May 1st 2000. Colt foal born early hours of the morning, Carrick Lord Arran. Dam Inchmurren of Carrick, Sire Carrick Lord Torran.
