Bagpipes

My name is Bryce McCulloch and I play the Great Highland Bagpipe, the Scottish Bagpipe as a solo instrumentalist. The Bagpipes are truly the recognized instrument of Scotland and represent Scotland more than anything else. If you require a Scottish atmosphere at your event or want to make your guests feel special when they arrive at your event then a Solo Bagpiper is what you require.

I also play the Scottish Small Pipes, this is a Lowland instrument that has a wonderful mellow sound and is ideally suited to indoor entertainment, unlike the Highland Pipe. The Scottish Small Pipe is quite a unique instrument and not as widely known as the Highland Pipe. However you will be impressed by the sound that this beautiful instrument can create.

Drummer

As an addition to a solo wedding piper why not include a drummer a well, this adds a bit more body to the combined sound and helps to lift the sense of occasion. This can be arranged at anytime, just ask and further details will be supplied.

UNIFORM

Bagpiper in Military Style Uniform Military Style Uniform

I pride myself in the fact that I wear a full military style piping uniform which is missing from so many bagpipers these days. How often have you seen the piper dressed the same as the guests?

The Tartan I wear is a Modern Red McPherson which includes the full length plaid, doublet, horse hair sporran, tartan hose and spats topped of with the feather bonnet and red hackle. You will agree that this is the way all Scottish pipers are portrayed and the way they are expected to turn out, your guests will be grateful for the ideal photo opportunity with a real Scottish Piper.

LOCATIONS

Brig O Doon Hotel Brig O Doon

Most of my playing takes place in South West Scotland and in particular Culzean Castle and Turnberry Hotel where I am the resident Piper. Other regular venues in this area are Lochside House Hotel, New Cumnock; Brig O' Doon House Hotel, Alloway; Lochgreen House Hotel and Peirsland Hotel, Troon; Gailes Lodge Irvine, Savoy Park, Ayr; Duns Castle, Duns, Crutherland House Hotel, East Kilbride. I also play at other venues throughout Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow as well as further a field when requested.

Travelling to venues outside Scotland isn't a problem either, I've never been lost yet! Apart from playing in my home locality and happily in England, I have travelled overseas to continental Europe; France, Germany (frequently), Italy, Belgium, Spain, Sicily, Iceland, Ireland, The Canary Isles, Turkey, Latvia and also to the Middle East, U.A.E. (Dubai). Contact me even if your location seems remote, I will be delighted with the opportunity to assist you in promoting Scotland, our traditions and culture.
