Videos and Demos

This page is primarily to give people the opportunity to hear some tunes, known and perhaps unknown which they may wish to be played at an event they are hosting, the most obvious is for a brides entrance and walk up the aisle to her wedding or for the Bride and Grooms return down the aisle after being married.
If a tune is not listed here and you would like to hear it please use the email form provided and I will try to have a recording made at the earliest opportunity.

Highland Bagpipes

The Bonawe Highlanders played in the function suite of Forbes of Kilgennie near Dundee.

The Rowan Tree, Bonnie Galloway and Auld Rustic Bridge. Recorded at Culzean Castle many years ago by Loudon Media

Flowers of the Forest played solo at funeral and memorial services.

The Gael

The Gael is more recognised as the theme from Last of the Mohicans.

Highland Cathedral

Highland Cathedral is probably the most requested tune to be played as a processional on the bagpipes.

I recorded this using an electronic chanter which gives a better sound quality than I can achieve using my cheap video camera.

The Green Glens of Antrim

A lovely traditional Irish ballad requested as a processional for a bride on the bagpipes.
I recorded this using an electronic chanter which gives a better sound quality than I can achieve using my cheap video camera.

Dawning of the Day

Another traditional Irish tune

I recorded this using an electronic chanter which gives a better sound quality than I can achieve using my cheap video camera.

Mhairis' Wedding

A high tempo traditional Scottish tune which is ideal for the Bride and Grooms exit from there wedding ceremony on the bagpipes.

I recorded this using an electronic chanter which gives a better sound quality than I can achieve using my cheap video camera.

The Children

Turnberry Resort, Scotland celebrated the Earth Hour 2010 initiative by switching off/dimming all the lights at 8.30pm on the 27th of March.

I played the pipes as the hotel dimmed the lights and Guests were invited to participate, either by switching off or dimming their own in-room lights.

You can hear me playing away at the front of the hotel, the tune being played is a 4/4 march called The Children by John Barnes

Scottish Smallpipes

Slow March Selection

This was my first recording with the Scottish Smallpipes at Carrick Studio, Crosshill. I have added some scenes from Glen Trool to help create an atmosphere for the mellow sound that is produced from these pipes.

My Home (Trad)
